What Lavender Spa offers

Lavender Spa is listed as a massage spa, with massage and spa as additional categories. Reviewers describe a full 60 minute massage that included hot stones at no extra charge, and one says the session left every muscle feeling worked.

The reviews come from visitors who booked alone and in pairs, including a friend visit and a recent graduate watching a budget. Two reviewers say they told staff about a specific problem area before the session, one the shoulder and neck, the other the lower back.

What customers say about Lavender Spa

Of the five review excerpts, three are positive. Reviewers mention friendly staff, a clean and calming room, an excellent price and a quick phone call to confirm an afternoon appointment. One review from 6 months ago, rated 4 stars, says the massage was exactly what was paid for and recommends it to anyone wanting a lower-cost massage.

Two reviews give 1 star. One review from 4 months ago says the room had no blanket on the bed, there were no instructions about what to do or when the therapist would return, and staff said only a small rolled towel was available. One review from 8 months ago says the masseuse acknowledged a lower back concern but did not work on it, and the reviewer reports leaving in more pain. Both complaints also mention being required to pay upfront.

Lavender Spa is open seven days a week, Monday through Sunday, from 9:30 AM to 10 PM. The listing shows that it accepts credit cards.

Reviewers describe the prices as reasonable, excellent and on the cheaper end, and one ties that to a 60 minute session with hot stones included. Would not recommend. They required payment up front which was weird and the room had no blanket on the bed to cover myself with, and no instructions about what to do or when they would return. When I found someone and asked for a sheet or blanket, they said no they only had the small towel that was rolled up on the bed. I tried to explain some pain I was hoping to address in my shoulder and neck but she did not really acknowledge it and just moved on with the typical massage. The massage itself was a mix of fine, real massage mixed with weird moments where it felt like she was trying to dig into my joints and bones instead of my muscles. I now have bruises on my lower back by my hip bones. She also completely pulled down my underwear for a lower back massage which I immediately refused and did not appreciate since I had made the decision to keep them on. At the end of the massage, she used a hot towel on my back which was nice at first but then she used the same towel to rub all of the lotion off my whole body which left me very cold. I was going to leave without giving a tip but she directly pressed me for one so I felt like I couldn’t refuse. Overall, not worth the $, even if it’s a cheaper option.

It takes a lot for me to give a review this low, but they've earned it. Requiring payment upfront would have been fine if they did a good job, but they did not. I'm in more pain now than when I showed up. I told them on the phone what the problem was with my lower back, and I reiterated to the masseuse. She acknowledged it, confirmed I wanted relief there, and then proceeded to ignore my lumbar completely, and now my iliac crest is covered in bruises. I paid for deep tissue massage, and it just ended up being an hour of someone digging into my bones with their elbow. There's absolutely no way this place should have 4.9 stars. Their reviews for need to be reviewed for legitimacy. If you are looking for a massage based in an in depth knowledge and understanding of the human anatomy, this is not it.

They do make you pay upfront but you get exactly what you pay for. A full 60 min great massage with free hot stones. We left feeling like every muscle in our body was massaged! I recommend if you are looking for relief on the cheaper end.

As a fresh graduate, I don’t have a lot of money to spend on massages, but I found this place, the reviews were positive and the price is a reasonable so I said why not even though the outside looks a little sketchy. I called ahead in the morning, just to make sure that they had availability at four and it was a quick concise conversation! They asked how many people it was just me and then later that day I went in. It’s near the downtown mall so parking is a little bit annoying but it’s close to the big parking garage and there’s two hour street parking around you can finagle it. Going in my plan was just to get a body massage, but for some reason, I went crazy and decided to do my first deep tissue. You pay for the massage up upfront, Which I read from earlier reviews so I wasn’t taking it back, and there’s also a place for you to leave a tip so I just left a $10 tip ahead of time, I was led straight into a room that had a curtain and some water calming sounds… it was very peaceful! The room I was in was right near the waiting room and they left the door open (with a curtain blocking the door) so there was some ambient noise, but it really was not that bad. Towels and bed felt clean. And oh man was this deep tissue. I’m sure if I asked she would’ve gone a little bit lighter, but I wanted to experience the whole thing so I let it happen… And it’s the next day and I am sore, but I think that’s expected. I wouldn’t worry about pressure being too late lol. I left my underwear on, and they had a towel to cover you, but later in the massage they do pull down your underwear slightly as did not get their massage oil on it. It felt very professional didn’t feel weird or inappropriate but if that’s something you’re uncomfortable with then this may not be the place for you or you can explicitly say that you don’t want that to happen. Additionally, in this being my first deep tissue, I feel like should say that they did also focus on the glutes a.k.a. my butt, but again it felt professional and really worked on my muscles. Doing speech to text I’m realizing this is a pretty long review, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I recommend this place. It’s pretty affordable, and if you feel like you want to raise the tip (after the session) Then you can easily change it on your receipt if you pay by card. Very happy to have found this place!

Had a massage with a friend here and it was really wonderful. Friendly staff, clean, calming. And the price was excellent!
